Pelican Predator DLX Fishing Boat

I bought the Pelican Predator DXL from [...] (best price I could find online) for use with my son on lakes in northern Illinois. Hitherto it has been fantastic. Its light weight and easy to carry. We use a trolling motor and 5 horsepower outboard motor, and it is plenty of power for this boat. Many could probably get away with just using a trolling motor. I would recommend this boat for use on lakes and floder.
We bought this boat and are happy with what my husband weighs 250 pounds and I’m 160 pounds. It is very stable and the padded seats are quite comfortable. We live on a saltwater creek and took it out fishing yesterday. Lots of places to put your rod, cups, etc. The only thing we want to see, the Velcro closures to keep the lid for the storage / battery silos down …. if you turn the boat on its side for storage, they pop open. Also it would be nice to have places to put the oars for rowing. We use a Riptide saltwater electric motor with 36 tap.
Purchased for my father-in-law. He loves it! Easy to get in and out of the water. Nice features!
I bought the Predator, trailer, trolling motor, and 2 hp Honda four-stroke for $ 1500 (it was a steal!). I later found out about ten times on our local lake and I love it! The boat is stable enough to handle the boat wakes and big enough that my wife, our Sheltie and I can all fit in it comfortably (the Sheltie is sitting on top of the battery bay). It is an art form to switch seats, but not terrible. You can also jump into the water to swim and get back in the boat without it capsizing. The boat is light enough that we can live out the trailer to clean or work on the trailer. We get a lot of looks at it, as it looks almost like a miniature ski boat rather than a jon boat. The only drawback I’ve seen is to live well aerated by a tube that goes into the back of the boat, so it is expected that automatic aeration of the natural movement of water. But this tube has a tendency to clog and prevent water from entering the tank and fill it up (one portable aerator can be used if really necessary).
Highly recommend for money.
