Chinese fishing boats in Philippine seas, could this be strike three for China and the Philippines? The 2 nations again tangled over fishing boats. The Chinese government demanded that the Philippine authorities return the fishing boats that the latter took from the former. Why? Because the Chinese fishing boats were stated to be in Philippine territorial seas, but interestingly enough, of the China Sea. Well, it may be the China Sea however it is a body of water all over Southeast Asia so it might be part of the Philippine territorial seas.

However the Chinese authorities did not agree. According to Chinese officials, Chinese anglers have been frequenting the disputed area for a long time. The Chinese have been rowing their fishing boats in that territory because it is an established fishing area. Too bad.
The 2 governments are also tangling over the Spratly Island because surrounding the tropical island is said to be an excellent destination for doing some fishing. I should say that it is because while the Spratly Island is populated by a small number of people, it is yet to be expressed to be owned by one nation. It doesn’t have an owner, I should say and at least 4 nations are fighting for it including China and the Philippines.

Spratly Island is reportedly sought after mainly because of its wealth in oil and mineral deposits. But local people of the Island will tell you to take your fishing boats to the area because it is also plentiful in underwater resources.

This is the first strike between strained relations between the Philippines and China. The 2nd strike was when a cop became a little crazy and took a bus full of Manilla residents hostage. Numerous people were killed that day. Horrible, terrible day for the Chinese.

However, for the residents of Spratly Island, it’s not bad for the Filipinos and Chinese in the area. They have lived as neighbors for a long time and they are 1 community. Too bad that this has to be strained by fishing boats. Those fishing boats might have been very nice looking or just plain good for the business of catching sea food.

It is said that the Chinese boats were captured while the Philippine ship was cruising the disputed water territory when the larger Philippine vessel hit a dinghy being pulled behind by one of the Chinese boats. This alerted Philippine officials on-board and made the needed procedures returning the fishermen to their home nation but leaving behind the precious fishing boats that mean sustenance.

Now that the warm summer months are rapidly approaching, many folks find themselves wanting to get out on the water to do some fishing. This is a great activity as fishing gives a lot of people the relaxation time that they have been wanting for so long. While some folks do not mind going out on ultra-fast boats to fish, others tend to prefer the peacefulness that comes with kayaking. There is just something about sea or fishing kayaking that people cannot get enough of.

If you have yet to kayak by yourself, then it is highly recommended that you go out with someone having kayaking experience. Even though most kayakers prefer a calm ride, there are some things you’ll want to carefully watch. You might, for example, want to wait a bit before buying a kayak for yourself until you get the hang of riding and paddling one. By getting familiar with the sport first, you’ll get the experience you need to make a wise decision when it comes time to purchasing one on your own. This will also give you the chance to learn more about the sport so that you’ll get the familiarity you need when shopping for your perfect kayak.

When you head out on the water for the first few kayaking experiences, make sure that your experienced friend who’s accompanying you walks you through the ropes and answers all your questions. If you don’t have access to an experienced kayaking friend, then you will probably want to seek the advice from a professional. Many facilities now offer specialized courses in kayaking. Rent a kayak for a few hours with an instructor and you’ll get the best start towards learning this relaxing and fun activity which will provide you with a lifetime of enjoyable water and fishing experiences.

Once you’ve learned all there is to know, you can then pass your knowledge onto friends and family so that they can enjoy the fun with you. They can also get their own kayaks and go out with you for some valued, quality time on the water. Either way, kayaking provides adventures that all can enjoy amongst their friends and family. In no time, you’ll be on your way to looking like professional kayakers, and you’ll wonder how you ever fished before learning how to paddle a kayak.

Selecting a kayak is a process that begins by considering the lifestyle of you and your family. Kayaks are like many other modes of transportation: There are a wide assortment of models and styles from which to choose. The type of kayak you choose will be largely based on how you plan to use it. Let’s take a look at the five hottest brands on the market today. These brands offer a great mix of high-adventure styles. You’ll find kayaks that fit nearly every performance requirement–from maneuvering the rapids to a calm ride across the lake to a relaxing day of trout fishing.

1.) Old Town Kayaks. What does a company named the Old Town Canoe Company know about kayaks? Just about everything. Old Town is the oldest and largest canoe and kayak manufacturer, dating way back to 1898. With a much-deserved images for quality, Old Town is known best for leading the kayaking business in craftsmanship and innovation. Old Town’s kayaking line includes safe, stable sea kayaks, tandem kayaks, touring kayaks, exciting recreational kayaks and, of course, fishing kayaks. Old Town is known for combining modern materials and stylish contemporary design forms to their traditional, time-honored paddle craft. No wonder Old Town leads as a favorite among outdoor enthusiasts and sportsmen/sportswomen.

2.) Perception Kayaks. Perception answers when the Great Outdoors calls. This world-class kayaking company has been designing cutting-edge kayaks since the 1970s with their pioneering efforts in introducing the plastic kayak. Today, by using these latest innovative technologies, Perception has stayed ahead of the competition by addressing the wants, needs and desires of a new generation of kayakers. Perception kayaks are pervasive in the touring and recreational kayak line, but also have a giant selection of sporting-rec and sit-on-top kayaks to suit the needs of the most discriminating kayakers. Nearly 30 years later, the same passion that created the first line of Perception kayaks now drives development resulting in the release of sleek, new and innovatively-designed kayaks.

3.) Dagger Kayaks. The story of Dagger begins with a few kayaker friends who worked feverishly in a small shop with a dirt room floor to create leading-edge, world-class kayaks. Dagger kayaks are a kayakers favorite among all brands today. The company is well-regarded for developing and releasing the highest quality kayaks available. The Dagger kayaking line of products are field tested by a collective group of kayaking professionals known as ‘Team Dagger’ before their products are released to the public. Those who wisely purchase Dagger kayaks can feel confident knowing that their kayak met the highest standards before Dagger was willing to give it their stamp of approval.

4.) Hobie Kayaks. With a proud heritage of water craft behind them, Hobie spawned their ubiquitous brand to become a well-respected leader in sea and fishing kayaks. Hobie claims that ‘their mother was a sailboat and their father was a surfboard’. Hobie demonstrates this motto in their water craft design. This results in the creation of the most innovative, high-tech kayaks on the market today. Hobies expertise and heritage redefines the industry standard. Take, for example, their MirageDrive pedaling system. This system uses two underwater flippers similar to a penguins fins, to power the kayak. In addition, Hobie kayaks integrate a seamless, roto-molded, polethylene construction method. Some people argue that Hobie kayaks are closer to guided missiles than typical traditional kayaks of years gone by.

5.) Pelican Kayaks. Now going into their 40th year, Pelican International is recognized as a leader in producing affordable, high-quality water craft products. Pelican now produces hundreds of boats”from pedal boats and fishing boats to canoes and, of course, durable and affordable kayaks. The company has been a leader in the development of exclusive technologies that set benchmarked standards of excellence for impact resistance, and for products’ ability to regain shape after violent impacts, as well as their UV-protected exteriors. Pelican targets the recreational user, and are an excellent choice for the outdoor enthusiast looking for a balance between quality and affordability.

For those lacking current experience with kayaking, you may not fully understand what the fuss is all about. Once you’ve taken your first fishing trip on a kayak, you will likely see the light and understand what everyone has been talking about all these years. Kayaking in the ocean, river, or lake is just an all-around great time for the entire family. Since most kayaking takes place at a relaxing pace, you are forced to take your time and take in all of the scenery around you. With our lives so hectic these days, there is no reason to do anything other then move slowly and truly relax out on the water.

by Frank Gehry

There are a lot of different models of boat seats, and knowing their dissimilarities and possible uses will allow you to make an informed decision and to buy the one that suits you and your boat best.

Lounge boat seats are very common, especially on motor yachts or other non-sailing vessels, such as skiffs. They are intended to carry several passengers in a comfortable, not too sporty environment. They can be found both below deck and on deck, and come in a variety of fittings.

They come in many different sizes depending on the boat layout and plan, and are usually fixedly mounted into the boat. If they are intended for outside use and are not inside a cabin, they are usually UV treated to provide for mildew resistance.

One kind of pretty common lounge boat seat is the back-to-back seat, which is comprised of two boat seats that are attached together at their backrests. These are quite common on boats carrying a lot of passengers such as ferries, but also on leisure fishing pontoons for instance. They are often integrated with tables, with multiple back-to-back seat rows being alternated with tables.

Some seats come in bench designs and are very common on pontoon-like boats or other boats carrying a lot of passengers. Several of these kinds of seating arrangements have optional removable backrests and thickly clustered cushions for superior comfort.

Some bench design seats are collapsible, allowing for the passengers to move around no the boat more easily while not seated.

The most minimalist kind of boat seat is probably the leaning post. This may strike you as a surprise, but these posts can be fitted with small benches, strategically placed padding, or other solutions to make sure that they can be used to rest a weary bottom.

These posts are most often used for center console boats, to give passengers some more stability when moving around. They can function as a leaning post, a seat or a bench. On fishing boats, it is common to have leaning post type seats to include up to four fishing rod holders, as well as an integrated hand and foot rail.

Boat seat types are of different kinds, and the ideal one for you will depend a lot on the kind of use that you intend to put the seat through. Are you carrying passengers, do you need a high performance cockpit seat, or are you looking for custom vintage is seating?

Also, once you have found the boat seat model that you want, make sure to compare several merchants on price to make sure that you get the most bang for your buck.

Fishing Boats

the first time I went on a fishing boat I was about 25 years old. I had always been scared of water previously and, to be honest, if I hadn’t been a bit drunk and in sort of a reckless mood that day, I wouldn’t have even agree to go out. The friend who took me out was just the opposite of me. He had practically been raised on fishing boats. He had been sea fishing, lake fishing, river fly fishing – he had done pretty much any kind of fishing you could think of. He had even done it professionally for a couple of years, but had left that life behind because he missed his girlfriend too much.

The sort of expedition we were going on was pretty tame in comparison to some of the stuff he had done. This was not one of those big deep sea fishing boats that I used to watch going out to sea when our family would take trips out to the ocean side. This was just a little aluminum fishing boat – basically a small, flat bottomed boat with a little outboard motor on it. It was stable for its size, but its size wasn’t very big.

As soon as we left sure, I started to regret it. As I said, I’d never been on fishing boats before, and rocking back and forth, already a little tipsy, was doing nothing to assuage my anxious stomach. All my other friends made fun of me because I was hanging on for dear life as we went along at the overwhelming speed of 5 knots.

As soon as he moored it in the middle of the water, however, I calmed down a little bit. I didn’t realize that, with fishing boats, the goal was to find a good spot and then sit there. I would have been down with that. I just wasn’t into the traveling to and from part. As soon as we were sitting there, rocking gently with the waves, I actually started to enjoy it. It was really mellowing me out nicely, and the look of the sea and the sky had me drifting off into a blissful state. I did not actually catch anything, but one of my friends did. He got a big bass that was actually large enough to feed all of us together. We took it in, cleaned it and cooked it up, and served it simple with some boiled potatoes. Somehow, the fact that we had caught it made it taste better.

Bass fishing is a pastime enjoyed by many from all walks of life, young and old alike. Once you’ve tried out bass fishing, it is likely that you’ll want your own fishing boat. Get some advice before you buy, as a first time bass boat buyer.

One of the first things you want to make sure you have when you go to get your new boat is the right kind of vehicle for towing the boat. Many vehicles are not made to tow boats behind them. A fully loaded bass boat with trailer, full gas tank, tackle, etc., may weigh more than 3500 pounds. Be sure to have a car or truck which is capable of towing this much weight uphill.

Choosing the Right Size and Material

What kind of bass fishing boat should you get, and what size should it be? On a larger body of water, you’ll probably want a boat which is at least 19 feet in length. If you are going to be fishing in a smaller body of water then you can go with a smaller outboard motor on a smaller boat. You can also choose which material your boat is made out of. Bass boats are generally made from aluminum or fiberglass. There are pros and cons to each material. Aluminum fishing boats may be for you if you’ll be doing the bulk of your fishing on a small lake.

You may want to go with a fiberglass boat if you want a smoother ride on larger bodies of water. While more expensive than aluminum (most of the time), a fiberglass boat is more durable and will not be blown about by wind nearly so much as one made of aluminum. Before you choose fiberglass or aluminum, consider all the options, and the advantages and disadvantages to each before you make your decision.

New or Used?

Whether you buy your boat new or used is up to you, but again there are advantages and disadvantages to each. Used bass boats will keep their resale value longer but of course, a used outboard motor may not last so long. If you opt to buy a used bass fishing boat then you’ll want to test the motor before handing over your money. The price tag, of course is an attractive feature of used boats. A good deal can be had on a used boat but do keep in mind that you usually get what you pay for. A boat which is very cheap may be a “fixer-upper”.

A new boat has one huge advantage over a used one – a warranty. You won’t have to worry about working on it and you can just get right to fishing. In addition, you’ll have more boats to choose from than if you’re looking for a used one. Whichever you choose, though, check out the boat and inspect it carefully, so that you know what you’re buying before you do.

Boating is a big industry in this country and boats range from sailboats to fishing boats to leisure boats. One thing that every boat owner has in common is that they take care of their boats the same way most people take care of their cars. As with car care, boat care is a big business industry all its own.

Everyone wants their boat to look new and shiny all of the time. Boat care can be as simple as washing and waxing the boat to filling in minor cracks and scrapes. Boat care is just as important as knowing how to run the boat. If proper boat care and maintenance is not maintained, the boat could fall into disrepair which could prove disastrous if you are stuck in the middle of the ocean. There are a variety of boat care cleaners and waxes available in today?s market.

It is important to choose the right cleaner for your type of boat and storage. Saltwater boats and freshwater boats often require different kinds of cleaning to ensure the longevity of the boat. It is also proper boat care to wash and wax your boat thoroughly before putting it into storage. This will enable your boat to be more easily ready for use when the time is right to take the boat out again.

Boat Care Products

There are a wide variety of cleaning products for the boat and it is up to the consumer to do the research and decide which products are best for their particular boat. Finding a good soap is the first priority in boat care. A good soap will clean every surface inside and out and will not remove any protective wax coating, but it will remove any stubborn dirt residue from the boat.

Spray cleaner is the next must have in boat care and should always be kept on hand. This cleaner will remove any stains that appear on the surface of the boat such as bird droppings, fish blood or just good old fashioned grease. Leaving those filthy remains on the boat could damage your boat in the long run. Another must have for proper boat care is a good finishing wax. The wax not only restores the boat?s shine and color, but the wax also helps to protect the boat from the elements.

Saltwater boats can experience build up and corrosion of their paint. Freshwater boats experience mold from the algae and slime found in lake water. These are just a few of the products needed for proper boat care. A good rule of thumb is to always research which products are right for your particular boat.

At least twice a year there is a big boat show somewhere in the country. Boating is a huge industry especially in the coastal states. But in order to have boats, we have to have boat manufacturers to make the boats. When you go to these boat shows a lot of the boats look the same. Boat manufacturers like to mass produce similar styles of boats so they can turn a big buck.

Some people, however, would like to have something different than what the average Joe Blow is buying. When this is the case custom boat manufacturers are the way to go. Custom boat manufacturers will take either an existing design or your own design and custom make it exactly how you want it to be done. Maybe a work vessel is commissioned, such as a passenger ferry or fire fighting boat. These custom boat manufacturers are the leaders in the marketplace when acquiring or building one of these very specifically designed boats.

Companies

There are many custom boat manufacturers to choose from and, as always, consumers should take the time to research them and decide which one is best for their needs. If you are looking for aluminum fishing boats, Barchrusher Aluminum Fishing and Trailer Boats is a company to look into. They specialize in low to the water, light to tow, low maintenance and easy to clean boats.

If you are looking for a way to reduce the stress of boating, this is the custom boat manufacturer for you. For a variety of patterns and colors Agape Tile is another custom boat manufacturer to look into. They specialize in hard to find color such as gold mother of pearl and lavender hammershell. Patterns include check, random mosaic, and square diagonal. These patterns are all very hard to find and only a custom boat manufacturer will have them.

These two companies are only a couple of the many custom boat manufacturing companies that consumers have to choose from. Whether the need is for a recreational boat for fishing or day cruises, or a work boat such as a police boat, there is a company that can provide for your needs whatever they may be.

These companies do recommend that everyone does their research before looking, because everyone and every need is different and not every company can fulfill the specific needs of every customer. The custom boat manufacturers pride themselves on quality service and try their best to make sure every customer is satisfied.

Fishing has been a source of survival since time began. Fishing started by just throwing a spear in the water and hoping you would hit something. Eventually someone thought up the idea to build a vessel that could take you farther out to sea where the fish actually are. The term fishing boat was born out of this idea. For centuries the livelihood of some cultures depended on these fishing boats to provide food for the entire village. The men would go out for weeks at a time in hopes of finding the ?big catch?. Being on a fishing boat was and is a very dangerous profession; people die all of the time chasing the big fish.

Of course the fishing boats of today are very different than the fishing boats of long ago. There are also different types of fishing in the modern world. People fish for sport; always in search of the bigger fish. Some people fish purely for pleasure and can sit for hours on a lake not even caring if they actually catch anything.

And of course people still fish for food and in some states this is still a major economic industry. But there is one thing all of these fishermen have in common; they all need fishing boats. Fishing boats and fishermen have come along way since the first boat was built and they have evolved into very interesting and innovative vehicles.

Types Of Fishing Boats

There are many different types of fishing boats for the different types of water terrain. Every type of boat has a different number of engines; some have more deck space than others and some of these boats even have a place below deck where you can eat lunch or take a nap. Offshore saltwater boats are designed to operate in any condition the ocean can throw at you so they are perfect for long trips out to sea.

Inshore saltwater boats are designed for shallower waters so if you are putt-putting around the marshes or inland coves this is the boat for you. The bass boat is rides fast and low in the water and comes in many colors. These boats do not hold many people and are not made for long trips. For leisurely lake fishing, the freshwater fishing boat is just what you are looking for. This boat is perfect for a relaxing day of fishing on the lake. Whatever your preference weather it be for food, sport or leisure there is a fishing boat made for every occasion.

Selecting and acquiring the ideal fishing boat is a real art for someone who has already gone through many experiences as far as boating is concerned. However, it can be a daunting task to those who have not yet experienced buying a fishing boat. To make the activity easier for the first timers, here is a list of tips that they can use when choosing an ideal fishing boat.

1. It is important to consider the purpose of the fishing boat.

Buying a fishing boat has only one purpose: to be used in fishing. However, before choosing the perfect fishing boat, it is important to consider also the other purposes. First, the place where the fishing boat will be used should be taken into account. Will it be in the ocean or in other bodies of water like lakes? Second, the time of the day it will be used. Will it be for day trips or for overnight fishing activities? If the fishing boat will be used for ocean cruising and overnight stays, it would be better to buy a fishing boat that has a hull. This is specifically designed for rough waters. This design is meant to ride with the waves, hence, providing more comfort to anglers while on board.

2. The budget

When buying a fishing boat, it is important to know if the buyer can afford to acquire a boat. Fishing boats, or any boat for that matter, can be very expensive. Hence, the buyer should know how far his budget would go as far as fishing boat prices are concerned.

3. The warranties

It is extremely important to know if the fishing boat has a warranty. It should be analyzed and meticulously scrutinized because not all warranties are created equal. Hence, it is best to buy a fishing boat from dealers that will provide the necessary services in case their product is found to be defective.

4. The certification

When buying a fishing boat, it is important to take note if it is certified by the “National Marine Manufacturers Association” or the NMMA. This agency guarantees that the certification they give to every boat manufacturer is a guarantee that the fishing boat had passed the agency’s standard of excellence. The bottom line is that, people should do more than just look around when choosing the ideal fishing boat.
